The Case of the Yellow Photograph

Once, there was the mysterious case of the yellow photograph.

A client walked in and showed us this strange apparition on her telephone.

Obviously, we inquired as to what the scene looked like to her eyes at the time, to which she replied, “It was not at all all yellow!”

We pondered for a moment before seizing on the idea that the case may revolve around the case. Examining the device closer, we were particularly interested in the opening around the eye of the camera.

With confidence, we asked the client to photograph the settee in our foyer and the resulting exposure was perfect.

Now genuinely puzzled, we asked as to the quality of the lighting when the original laundromat photograph to which the client answered that it was dark.

Quickly, we doused the lights, closed the drapes, and asked her to retake the photograph. Bang went the flash and yellow went the picture!

To be thorough, we repeated the experiment without the case on the phone and the case of the case was thus solved.

(iOttie has long since replaced this design case for newer iPhone models, with a black section around the camera lens and flash opening).
