The Shattered iMac – Cords Across the Floor

That fancy desk in the middle of your room . . . it's cool. But, that computer that sits on the desk requires at least one cord (maybe more). Do you have a power outlet under the desk, or will that cord run across the floor from the nearest wall? If so, will it be covered with a cable runner?

You might think it's okay to wing-it, that you will always be aware of that cable, and, that it's kinda sorta flat to the ground and cannot every truly present a tripping hazard.

And then, there's that moment when you are distracted, or in a hurry, or carrying something heavy and shuffling, or very tired and also shuffling. A foot catches that cable, and at best, you stumble a little. At worst, down you go, and down goes your Mac. And, this might be the result:

The above iMac worked perfectly after the fall (even though it has a mechanical drive) and after I replaced the glass, it looked not really good due to the severely crushed corners.

The dust seal is compromised but I suppose some duct tape around the entire top edge and around the corners might help with that.
